Funny how I noticed every little bump and rut in the road as we drove home. Â I hope the drive wasn’t as uncomfortable as I felt it was.
She did comment that the car seat was much more comfortable now than on the drive in, which I think is very positive. Also the leg feels much longer than it did on Wednesday, and her knees feel better already. It’s probably because the hip joint had almost completely collapsed and everything else was having to take the strain.
The hospital doled out extra sleepy painkillers before we left, so it’s now time for a brief power nap before we start the walking round every 20 minutes regime which is required for optimum hip recovery.

Congratulations Gillian…..you look outstanding!! What a beautiful smile, haha you had that beautiful smile on the leg marker picture too….attitude is so important and you obviously have a good one. I’m so happy you are home, quite remarkable really. Looks like nurse Susie isn’t going to let you let up…way to go Susie! Thanks for the updates, love ’em. Love, Sherri
It’s nice to be home – although I had 5* treatment at the hospital. Many thanks for all your support Sherri – I sure do have lots of people rooting for me! Special mention to Susie who is here – she’s been more than brilliant and also Sally who will be here tomorrow. I know she will be brilliant too! I will have to get used to doing as I am told because remembering all the details is not easy for an elderly person!:-)
Love, Gillian
Hey Gillian,
Way to go. I was excited to see how well things have gone so far. I had been hoping that I would hear something. Sounds like your daughters will be excellent generals in charge of recovery and routines. So happy all went well. Will be pulling for you.
Joan
Thanks Joan for your support! Much appreciated. Did you notice Susie used your photograph?
All the best,
Gillian
